श्री तांबडी जोगेश्वरी सार्वजनिक गणेशोत्सव मंडळ

The Goddess Shree Tambdi Jogeshwari is known as the “Gramdevata” - Goddess of the city - of the Pune city in Maharashtra. The great Indian freedom fighter Shri. Lokmanya Tilak bestowed the honour of "Manacha Dusara Ganapati" - second among the most honoured - to Tambdi Jogeshwari Ganeshotsav Mandal in 1893. We are a socio-cultural organisation and have been organising the Ganesh Festival since 1893. As a socio-cultural organisation, we have contributed to the society through various social initiatives while maintaining our culture and traditions in the most disciplined manner.

Pune Ganesh Festival

Festival, of any kind, brings people together. And Pune is one of the first cities where Ganeshotsav became a community celebration. Started in 1893 by Lokmanya Tilak, celebrating Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav was more of uniting the people, fighting against the English oppressors. Now, almost 125 years later, the intent of bringing mankind together still shines through during Ganesh Chaturthi.

The concept of Manache Ganpati is unique to Pune city. Neither in the state or the entire country will one observe the notion of Manache Ganpati. There are five Manache Ganpati in the city which are the oldest and hold primary significance. They embody the magnitude of rich history and the respect we reserve for them. Namely,  Shree Kasba Ganpati, Shree Tambdi Jogeshwari Ganpati, Guruji Taalim Ganpati, Tulsi Baug Ganpati and Kesariwada Ganpati are the five Manache Ganpatis.

This festival is celebrated with social motive and this is the festival which has shown power of youth by various means viz Police friends, volunteers to support various government systems or NGOs and main attraction of this festival "Dhol-Tasha Pathak".
